So here's some big news: four of my illustrations will be published in "Dragonfall," a tabletop RPG book from Scaldcrow Games, this spring. I'm so excited! I've sold stuff before, but I've never been published! I'm really looking forward to working with this company more in the future.
In other news, moving is haaard. At first, packing is kind of fun, because I'm a nerd who loves to organize things, but now I'm at the point where I just don't want to do it anymore. I should put on some fun and motivational music and go through my closet, but I just don't feel like it.
I'm also supposed to be writing a Doctor Who game for my gaming group. If I don't run this game before the move, there will be mutiny. At least that's partially finished. Then, either tomorrow or Friday, Dakota and I are going to go look at townhouses and hope that we have better luck with that. (Candy Mountain was not promising. I believe they would take our freakin' kidneys.)
I think I'll go for a walk. Maybe that will snap me out of this lethargy.

I've been checking my email constantly over the past few days, because I haven't heard from Aldebaran in ages and I'm worried. :( D, if you're out there on LJ somewhere, let me know if everything's okay?
Things have been alternately bad and good here. Ever since Dad's heart attack, my parents have been in financial trouble that I can't even begin to fix, especially since the store where I worked closed down without warning. They're going to have to move to a smaller place, and I'm going to have to find a job and a new place. Which is really okay. Dakota and I are planning on moving to a city that has an actual bookstore and more to do than just going to Wal-Mart, and it's going to be amazing. I know people say you shouldn't move in with friends, but we have had long discussions about potential problems, and we're working stuff out. We've agreed that all disputes will be settled with rational adult conversation, or failing that, Nerf wars. We have compatible views on how an apartment should be decorated and agree that the best place for action figure collections and cardboard TARDISes is the living room, where everyone can see them. We're going to be the most fabulous roommates since those two guys in my icon, except without all the homoerotic subtext.
Also, the apartments we're going to be checking out soon? They're named Candy Mountain. CANDY MOUNTAIN.
I think it's going to work out fine.

I've been posting sporadically to my art/animation blog, but I've been neglecting LJ!

My awesome sister Katie got me all caught up on the Batman Beyond comics for my birthday! And yet I haven't been able to read past issue 5. Why is that? Because of this response from the editor:
"And we're running out of space, so we'll have to call out [fan name] of Levittown, NY, who wants to see the return of the Zeta Project-- that might be a heavy lift, but we'll see what we can do."
A Zeta Project comic? MAKE THIS HAPPEN, DC! I just tweeted Bob Goodman about it to see what he knows, and while I wait for a response I'm posting this EVERYWHERE.
I hate to say this in the middle of all this OMGHAPPY, but if Bob Goodman's not involved in this, I'm not sure I'm interested.

Kind of freaking out. Tornadoes all over the place in Alabama. Areas of Tuscaloosa have been wiped out. The town of Argo has been flattened. Debris just started falling here from the tornado in Birmingham. My sister isn't home yet.
I worked for two days on this, about twenty hours total, and I am extremely happy with it. :) I have posted it on Twitter so Bob can see later, and I'll upload it to DeviantArt in a little while. Right now I am going to take a very long break from staring at the computer screen.

Tomorrow will be the ten-year anniversary of the first episode of The Zeta Project. More on that later. I've been working on a project for more than three hours, and I wanted to take a break and post what I have so far.

First, thank you Alda for the adorable baby otter LJ gift! It's so cute! :D
I have been in hibernation the past few days. It snowed here, just a few inches, but that is so uncommon for Alabama that it led to mass panic, store/school/work closings, and people spending a great deal of time here. I like people, I really do, but sometimes I have to get away from them. Hence, the hibernation.
I'm afraid I don't have much to show for my time away. I've been writing a lot, but nothing I could post here. Seventy-seven pages of original stuff that I don't entirely hate, but now I'm stuck at the beginning of a new chapter and not sure where to go, which means that it's time to take a break from that and get back to "Long Road." Or any of the other stories floating around in my brain.
I attempted to color the next page of "For the Record" and got struck down by that problem that sometimes happens with robot!Zeta fanart... I get tired of coloring all that grey. I can't wait until I get to the parts with human-hologram Zee. I took a break from that, too, to work on an original character drawing that is almost finished. I'm debating posting it. And I have the beginnings of a "Long Road" picture around here somewhere...
What else? I've acquired the entire Batman Beyond miniseries and #1 of the new series via Ebay and my new favorite comics shop, Dragon Quills in Gadsden. I've also been having nightly Batman Beyond marathons with Dakota, who never saw the series all the way through, and between the new canon and the rewatching, my love for the series has been renewed. The comics are, to borrow slang from 2040, schway, and I plan to review them issue-by-issue at the Forum. This needs to happen for Zeta. He needs an introduction in the comics and a spin-off, even if it's just a miniseries to wrap up the story. (Though I would love a darker reboot.)

I keep forgetting to post these when they're finished!

I'm getting the next chapter of "The Long Road Ahead" ready for my fantastic beta reader . It turns out that the part I was having trouble with isn't supposed to happen for another chapter or two, so I have plenty of time to fix it! And since I'm already online, instead of working on animation projects like I should be, I thought I'd post here again. Stuff has been happening on TV and I haven't been posting about it!
( Spoilers for recent episodes of House, Supernatural, The Big Bang Theory... and Smallville? )
I can't wait for Doctor Who and Warehouse 13 to come back. :D
